    Implication for Private Formal Worker on Implementation of Health Security Act (BPJS Law)

    Before
    • Health coverage is compulsory, minimum scheme is defined
    • Coy may opt to do it through Jamsostek (minimum scheme) or through other means (self-insured or through insurance product)
    • Non contributory (contribution is borne entirely by employer)
     
    After
    • Minimum health coverage – SJSN scheme - must be obtained from BPJS, i.e. can no longer opt to do it entirely through other means
    • Can purchase COB health scheme (Coordination of Benefit between Insurance provider with SJSN scheme). 
    • Employee must also contribute (1%)
